Gender Equality at Beon, CitiPower, Powercor and United Energy
Building and nurturing a diverse workplace involves actively supporting gender equity.
We’re working to achieve a greater gender balance across our businesses. We’re also investing for the future, ensuring diversity in our field and trade roles through the provision of apprenticeships, graduate and scholarship programs.
- Fair pay and leadership goals: We are committed to increasing the representation of women in leadership and overall representation across each business unit. We do yearly gender pay reviews to make sure pay is fair.
- Pre-apprenticeship scholarship program for women: Open to women undertaking a Certificate II in Electrotechnology. Recipients receive financial support and are placed on our apprenticeship program candidate list.
- Women in engineering scholarships: Recipients receive financial support over three years, 12 weeks of paid vacation work, a business mentor and are placed on our graduate intake candidate list.
- We also have our Women in Power Network, a network of women and allies working to connect and develop women through events, networking, mentoring and upskilling opportunities.
As a result of the above, we are proud to be a WORK180 endorsed employer for women. Our commitment to helping all women thrive in the workplace includes initiatives such as our Women in Power network, Women in Engineering scholarships, Women studying Pre-Apprenticeships in Electrotechnology scholarships, a generous parental leave policy, embedded flexible working options and our extensive health and wellbeing program.
