Diploma in Computing

Follow your passion for IT by studying the Diploma in Computing alongside your undergraduate degree. Whether you haven't programmed before, or already have an understanding of computational thinking and programming, gain skills in programming, designing online solutions and developing web applications.

This diploma provides you with a sequence of IT study and a range of data manipulation and presentation techniques.

The Diploma in Computing requires a total of 100 points of specified study, of which up to 50 points can be cross-credited from the student's main or underlying degree. To graduate with an undergraduate degree and the Diploma, students must complete between 350 and 400 points across both programs.

To be awarded the Diploma in Computing you must complete:

• Two compulsory subjects
  • COMP10001 Foundations of Computing
  • and one of SWEN30006 Software Modelling and Design OR INFO30005 Web Information Technologies
• Four electives from level one, two or three. Some of these elective subjects will be prerequisites for the compulsory subjects
• Two level three electives.

Using technology to manage and present information is a required skill across all industries. The Diploma in Computing equips you with the IT knowledge employers are looking for.
