Applications are now open for our Graduate positions and this year it will look a little bit different. Historically we have recruited Graduates to participate in a rotational program commencing in February of the following year. We figure ‘It’s good to be different so in running with that theme we will be recruiting graduates who are passionate and committed to a career in one of our specific practice groups.

Pros

  • Everyone is helpful and supportive. Very encouraging and wanting to help you succeed within your career.

  • There is a great work/life balance. It is obviously dependant on the team you are placed in, but overall it appears senior management appreciate their staff and work hard to ensure everyone remains happy.

  • I am given the opportunity to get involved in a variety of work.

  • Sparkes also helps foster relationships within the cohort of graduates across the country which is great for both networking and developing valuable friendships.

  • The people and their attitude to work and the culture across the firm.

Cons

    • Long hours.

    • The pay is generally lower than market pay.

    • The uncertainty re rotations.

    • The lack of desk/office spaces.

    • The billable targets are slightly higher than other firms in the same tier and pay is sometimes on the lower end of the spectrum.
