About the opportunity

We now have an opportunity for a graduate with an Engineering background to start in our Marketing team as a Category Specialist. The role of the Category Specialist is to utilise their deep product knowledge of the category portfolio to be able to enable and support internal stakeholders in the management and development of the category. 

The graduate successful with this role will move into our Metal Piping Systems category so a strong knowledge of Civil Engineering or Mechanical Engineering will provide the best foundation for us to develop your other Category Specialist skills. 

Our Graduate Program is an immersive learning experience split over 2 major periods:

• 12 months of learning experience working from within our retail-based branches where you will undertake a month-by-month learning plan, learn deeply about our customers and products first-hand from the frontline, and experience a series of rotations through the Reece Group businesses in the branch. These 12 months will broaden your understanding of the Reece Group businesses, deepen your knowledge of our customers, and build your preparedness to craft your career at Reece.
• 12 months of supported learning and development within your Category team, under the guidance of a personalised mentor. 

The Graduate Program will commence in July 2022. 

Key Selection Criteria

We’re seeking recent university graduates with a degree in Engineering, either Civil or Mechanical, with an interest to develop their skillset in a trade-supply retail environment as a Category/Product Specialist. Strong candidates will possess the following:

• Bachelor’s degree in civil or Mechanical Engineering, or relevant study with high exposure to the civil engineering sector
• Good analytical and presentation skills 
• Working knowledge of metals, associated chemistry, manufacturing methods and corrosion protection
• Knowledge of the water industry, its regulatory structure, and bodies 
• Knowledge of key market players in the Civil Water industry
