These are all kaupapa which are important to the safety and prosperity of Aotearoa whฤnui including Te Iwi Mฤori and Pasifika.

Your internship will include:

  • A paid internship over summer within one of our foreign policy teams

  • Travel assistance will be provided for interns outside of the Wellington region.

MFAT is passionate about growing a diverse talent pipeline and the Aorere and Vaka internships are part of MFATโ€™s efforts to provide opportunities to Mฤori and Pasifika students and young professionals to help ensure that our Foreign Ministry and its advice reflects the full diversity of Aotearoa.

We encourage you to apply if you are:

church, sports-based or any other activities)
  • A New Zealand citizen, and of Mฤori descent.

Graduate Success Stories

  • Graduate stories
Being involved in important trade agreements and seeing the nuances of different countries engaging together and working towards the same goal is really special and exciting, and not something you will get to experience in all jobs.

  • Graduate stories
The coolest thing about my role is when we receive partner reporting (NZNGO reporting on activities we have funded) and I get to read about, and evaluate, the impact our funding is having at a community level.
