Great communication throughout the entire process

The interview process and expectation were clear and transparent.

The normal process and recruitment was quick. Straight forward and simple process without outcomes delivered in a timely manner.

I always say that their recruitment process was the best i have experienced so far. I had multiple recruitment processes in multinational companies back in my home country, and they were awful! i would always feel intimidated, the processes were more aggressive and i do not think they were designed in a way to get to know their candidates, but rather to put them under pressure and only test this skill. At grant thornton since the online process i felt confident. I came to their open house which had people conducting sessions to advise us how to prepare for an interview (not only for gt, but for companies overall), and their tips were super helpful. The assessment day was smooth, well designed and i believe it tested both our individual and team work skills. The first part comprised in an individual assessment, and then, the second one in groups. The final part was the interview with 2 managers (one of each service line chosen). All the way i felt confident and relaxed, completely the opposite from my past experiences back home. They were also very quick to give us a feedback. Mine was the very next day. In contrast, bdo took around a month. A big bonus for me was that gt is one of the only companies to take in international students.

There was the online application, online assessments, assessment centre which also had an individual interview and then a partner interview.

Good, whilst it felt long, it didn't feel irrelevant. Was a positive experience. And when i had questions during the process i reached out via email and was helped quickly.

I had an initial online assessment, and then progressed to the in person assessment centre, where we did assessments in groups, and then after that we had an interview with a member from the team.

Various online assessments, such as a personality test, online recorded interview. Next stage was an assessment centre, which involved coming into the office and completing a group task and an individual task, getting a chance to listen to those who work there speak. Finally, an interview with a manger.

The interview process at gt was quite manageable. The online assessment was relatively straightforward. During the assessment day, i found the atmosphere to be relaxed and inclusive. Overall, my experience was positive, with the process designed to make candidates feel comfortable and showcase their skills effectively.

Interview process was great i still speak to some people from my group assessment centre. Grant thornton were really prompt in getting back to me about the status of the process compared to other companies. Other companies did not inform me on whether i had made it through to the next step. So the communication displayed by grant thornton was very much appreciated.

The first few steps are done within a few hours. It was then a few days until i received further steps that were required, which involved a number of 'tests', which i had to do some studying for, just to make sure i did my best. The final few assessments could've been done in person or via zoom, but i chose to fly to sydney to complete them as i wanted to give myself the best opportunity to succeed. This assessment involved a case study and presentation, an interview with a senior manager, and a final q&a session.

4 stages of interviewing process (general assessment to test english and maths, team assessment, individual assessment and final interview). During the period where i had my interview, it was on the pandemic so therefore everything was held through zoom. However, the communications were clear and efficient as hr is swift in responding.

I found the process to be a good experience, especially compared with other companies that i also applied to. I had to complete online assessments and interviews which were challenging but not too hard and not too time consuming like others, which was helpful as the process is typically performed whilst managing full-time university commitments. The in-person assessment centre followed this online process, which was also performed at a good level. While the three stages of the assessment were challenging enough, they still gave room for individuals to showcase their strengths.

There were two round of interviews, one with managers on the team, and the other with the partner. Interview process was very relaxed, which i liked as it made me more comfortable and allowed the interviewers to get to know me better. Interview assessments included an online video interview and an assessment centre, which included a team based assessment and individual case study.

Had a zoom meeting with other candidates and answered some questions based off information on a powerpoint.

I was asked why i chose gt where i see myself in 5 years standard questions but also a little bit about myself, my work experiences and anything i felt would hinder my progress. I was able to be honest and this added in me getting the hours i required to balance work and life commitments.

Why i choose the service lines in question. Why i choose grant thornton. What subjects i enjoyed the most at uni. A situation where i had disagreements with some leader/manager and how it was solved; one thing i learnt by myself, what it was, the steps i took to do it and the outcomes.

In the first interview i was asked more behavioural questions, and questions about my resume/other job interview questions that you would expect. My second interview with the partner was more of a normal conversation about the firm and about myself.

Behaviour type ones i. E. When was a time you had to be adaptive in your work. No accounting based questions.

My interview was extremely casual, and they just asked about prior experience, what i expect from the job, how i would handle myself, and other generic questions.

Behavioural questions, such as giving examples when i have displayed leadership or worked in a team. General questions, such as what i like to do outside of work etc.

In my interviews at gt, i was asked about my prior experience and why i believed i would be a good fit for the company. They were interested in understanding how my background aligned with the company's values and goals, and how i could contribute to their team and culture.

From memory, it was a lot about the kind of person i am, rather than asking about achievements/accolades etc. There were also some questions about my previous experience, both in the workforce and extra curricular activities, volunteering etc.

Behavioural questions were asked during the interview and some case studies were raised in the assessment. Hr specifically told us not to leak the questions as it will appear to be an imbalance in the hiring process :)

I performed online interviews, an interview with senior managers, and an interview with the partner in my team. I found the questions to be well-aligned and fair.

What attracts you to join the company

General questions about strengths, weaknesses, overcoming difficulty, teamwork ability. Overall was a general conversation.

Be yourself

Focus on your soft skills, like how to maintain a conversation and being present in the room. I was never tested on my understanding of technical accounting, i was tested on my ability to think on my feet, maintain a conversation, be personable and concise.

I think best run through the standard interview questions. Have your own questions prepared to ask the interviewer - maybe ask about the company culture etc - give yourself a sense of the person you are interviewing with and the office you enter. You can do this! and its a great place to work - maybe being biased to my office and service line but i think its worth it and you get to learn a lot.

This would work for any company. Research about the company you are applying for, their values, if possible, try to find what employees think about it. Try attending the jobs fair at uni and ask the recruiter about the company. Think about your own principles, what is important to you, your goals, and see if it aligns with the companies you are applying for. Basically, know yourself and get to know the company as much as you can. Worst mistake is not researching the company before the interview. Do not trust ai to do your interviews for you; managers and hr are very aware of these tricks, and you will fail the in person interview once they see your answers and body language are completely different to your online one. Also study the star way to answer questions, they will always be useful as every company will ask you about a situation where you had a problem and how you solved it. Lastly, ask questions! they love seeing you are interested in the company, so try to come up with some smart ones for the managers.

To practice behavioural questions, and be able to speak about your resume and experience confidently.

Be ready for behaviour type questions and have a bunch of stories prepared. I. E. Use the star answers format.

I would do my research on the company, and i would prepare by practicing questions at home before the interview, also i would encourage people to be themselves, gt is a place where you can be yourself. I would also say that you should ask them questions.

Have some answers prepared for typical questions, such as identifying what your values are and ensuring they align with the company's.

My advice would be to stay relaxed throughout the process. It's helpful to have a grasp of basic accounting and financial terminology, as this shows preparedness and interest in the role. Additionally, maintaining a positive attitude and a friendly demeanor, including smiling, can go a long way in making a favourable impression. Finally, take the time to research our company and understand our values and goals—it demonstrates genuine interest and readiness to contribute.

Do research on both gt, and the people in the team you're applying for. It shows you really want the job and that you are interested.

As cliche as it may sound, be yourself! the company appreciates people who are true to themselves and are not afraid to express their own opinions. To best prepare is to do the research of the company and find out how they relate to you.

Expect the interview process goes for a while. As there is like 4 steps before finding out of you have got the job.

My advice would be to prepare interview answers, specific to the role you are applying for. While typical and more board interview questions were asked, i found we were asked questions quite specific to the area we applied for, even though we had selected very broad areas in the application process.

Read about the culture and values and see if you align. Find out about pre interview events. Try and talk to people from the company

Tell some past experience on how did you overcome the difficulties

Make sure you know your experiences you've listed on your cv, you will probably be asked about them. Practise a lot of interview questions, and also revise a little bit of valuation methodology should you make it to partner interviews.

Be prepared to answer basic interview questions like why this company or where do you see yourself in 5 years.

Research and prepare your answers for a lot of behavioural and experiential questions.
