Great culture within my team, and great culture within early career professionals
Graduate, Sydney - 10 Nov 2023
Poor workload allocation, plenty of people, especially seniors are overworked while others are bored. Very good company culture outside of office hours.
Graduate, Perth - 10 Nov 2023
My department feels Horizontal structure where it is not unusual to ask many questions to my team leaders and get design ideas. I organise social events for my team and they all seem enthusiastic when we are out of office. This is my favourite team of people I have worked with thus far.

I have felt genuinely supported and cared about by all colleagues; I have been made to feel comfortable approaching my manager and BGL, asking questions of coworkers, and just chatting over lunch. I find socialising and approaching colleagues difficult as it is so I really appreciate this culture. The office is pleasant to be in - people often go for lunch or coffee together which is a nice opportunity to interact with my team or the wider Perth office, and I have enjoyed the end of month drinks which is a really nice way to meet people from different teams. The GHD cocktail gala was also a highlight, it was fun and nice to get to talk to people in a very not-office context. It's also great that there are a lot of other young professionals both in my team and the wider office, and I have made genuine friends in the office.

Inclusivity and acceptance are extremely important at GHD and my team is always welcoming and supportive to those who need it.

I think the team are approachable, understanding.

The culture within the office is great and everyone I've spoken to within and beyond my team are friendly and helpful. GHD's culture in terms of the hierarchy feels quite egalitarian in that people in leadership / higher positions also feel approachable/relatable and treat everyone with respect regardless of experience level.

Generally cordial and welcoming environment. With some good opportunities for social activities outside of work hours

I work mostly remotely, and the team that I work with never let me feel like I am alone. The Sydney team are very supportive of my work life, as well as my home life. They reach out to me often and we are steadily becoming great mates.

My team's culture is very strong. Everyone is very encouraging and always happy to help out. We get along really well and have some good banter.

Great after hours work culture. Some people in the team work extremely long hours (12+ hours per day) which can create pressure in the team, many people also work on weekends too

great team culture at work and outside. lots of people around similar age/level within team

The culture within the team is close with all employees feeling relatively comfortable calling and taking to each other during office hours. Outside of the office, there are frequent external events for bonding. It can sometimes be hard with the hierachy structure to talk to colleagues more senior as they tend to be busier.

Hours in the office are generally standard and flexible. Good balance of working from home and office. Field hours generally not the same. In my team projects are budgeted with limited field hours when it seems clear the work will take longer, this forces less experienced or less senior team members to work unpaid hours in the field. I would understand if this was occurring every now and then, but most fieldwork I have been put on has gone over 8 hours a day with only 8 hours in the budget.
Graduate, Melbourne - 02 Nov 2023
Team is full of cool people, but with some dissonance or disconnect between new and old employees, sometimes leading to conflict. This can be heightened by fieldwork settings. But the team is working towards a conscious solution and overcoming this. On the whole, full of really nice people who are passionate and driven.

The companys culture is good - everyone is welcoming and nice. The company does make you feel a part of the team. I think though there should be a bit of a check-up system for the new starters/grads. The structure of the company is not biased - even from the highest positions to the lowest everyone can still have a conversation together without feeling the gap. The teams do plan in-office and after-hours activities for the colleagues to bond and build report.

My team and the other team in my business group have a good culture. In the office we have good communication going and coffee runs. Outside of the office, there are after work drinks and other functions to attend. The company structure/hierachy makes little to no sense. Have resigned myself to never understanding it.

As mentioned, good team which commonly goes for coffees/ friday arvo drinks etc. Also a good network of Juniors who are a good support network.
