The role

Cardno is looking to recruit a Graduate Civil Engineer to join our Transport team in Brisbane in 2022.

Located in Fortitude Valley in our global headquarters, we are conveniently located within a few minutes' walk to the train station and are surrounded by cafes and restaurants in the bustling King Street precinct.

Ideally we are seeking graduates that are due to complete their studies by the end of 2021 and can be available for full time, permanent work in January 2022. As a graduate on our established 2 year Asia Pacific Graduate Development Program, you will learn all facets of engineering techniques, relevant software programs, and gain essential business skills to ensure your success in a global consulting environment.

You will be Making a Difference by –

• Preparation of civil engineering and design services for a range of transport projects including roads, highways, and other transport infrastructure using best practice methodologies and techniques
• Participating in the delivery of projects, ensuring work output is of a technically high standard
• Completing design calculations and records within time and budget restraints
• Developing practical and commercial solutions to problems
• Undertaking work related training and self development for career advancement
• Collaborating with project staff while working within a team of technical specialists

About you

To be successful you will display –

• Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering with completion by 2021
• A passion for transport infrastructure including road and highway design
• Proven ability to learn and apply new concepts
• The ability to work and collaborate within a team environment through well-developed interpersonal skills
• Strong verbal communication skills to be able to present and articulate ideas to a wide variety of stakeholders
• A positive, initiative driven and proactive attitude
